Amber Kiwi Holiday Park & Motel

Stacey was already a huge help before I even got to the holiday park. She answered all my questions and professionally arranged for me to add a one-bedroom motel booking to my powered site, so I could pack my luggage more easily before flying home from Christchurch. She also made sure the campervan site could be as close to the motel as possible. At reception, she patiently explained the useful details for the stay, including free Wi-Fi and DVD hire, where to find the dump station and car wash, and where the shared kitchens and toilets and showers were. Then she walked alongside as I drove the campervan to my site and showed me where the motel was. Really excellent service, delivered with so much care. The landscaped park is sheltered and about 4 km from Christchurch city centre. Bus 80 (Lincoln - Parklands), which takes around 25 minutes, stops just outside on Blenheim Road. Nearby there’s a bakery, butcher, fruit and vegetable shop, video hire, and the Extra warehouse mall. Westfield Riccarton Mall is about a 30-minute walk, or an Uber was around $8. The one-bedroom motel was clean and spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen and a big, bright toilet and shower area. There were lots of TV channels to keep my kids entertained, plus a nice balcony for relaxing in good weather. They also loved the children’s playground and its trampoline. Money well spent, with lovely staff. Highly recommend.

The facilities were the cleanest we saw in NZ, and there’s a roomy kitchen, a comfortable lounge with a TV and lots of books, and lovely garden arrangements. What a cute hidden treasure. It’d be perfect at the start or end of a road trip around this beautiful country. If you’re just starting out, have a look in the leftover box from friendly people heading back to their home countries.

We had to alter our bookings several times because of work, and the hosts at Amber Kiwi Holiday Park were really helpful each time, going out of their way to sort the changes. The park was clean and neat and had everything we needed. We’d definitely stay again.

A quiet area in a handy location, and a great place to stay before heading out of NZ. The facilities were excellent and very clean. Late checkout is available too.
