The staff were friendly, but the room was awful. It was dirty, the furniture was stained, and I even found fingernail clippings on a freshly made bed. The fridge freezes things, and the hot tap had been removed from the one-bedroom unit. I don’t understand how this place gets good reviews. Also, be wary of the food truck in the front yard.

The owner was the best part of my stay, kind, helpful, and just a genuinely good person. It’s not often you come across hospitality like that. My room was spotless and comfortable, with everything I needed. I had a wonderful time and would happily recommend this motel.

I spent four nights at The Coachman and felt welcome throughout. The staff were quick to respond and happy to help with anything I asked. My unit was spacious, warm, and very clean, with everything arranged to make the stay comfortable and relaxing. I’d gladly return when I’m next in Christchurch. Five stars from me.

I’ve stayed at this motel before. The owner is really friendly, and the rooms were tidy.

I wouldn’t recommend this place for children with asthma. The building seems to have had mould problems and been refurbished, but I could still sense mould in the walls. After just one night, I woke up phlegmatic, which is something I’ve experienced in this type of property before.
