Cranford Oak Motel

We booked a one-bedroom apartment for four people, but were given a small Queen accessible room instead. Only three of us ended up coming, and the manager set up a rollaway bed when we arrived. Even for our group, the room was far too cramped. The shower was old and unclean, and the hot water turned cold partway through. Our room sat at the corner by the Main Street, so there was a lot of noise, which wasn’t ideal when we were only in town overnight for an event the next day. I disliked being charged the full price of another room after what felt like a dishonest room swap.

The spacious room and bathroom were easy to use, and I slept really well here. It’s easy to find, right on the main road, with a huge iconic oak tree beside the entrance on the right. A lovely place.

This was my second visit, and the service was great, with very helpful staff. The accommodation is good value, and I loved the spa bath. My room was quite dark because of where it was positioned, and I prefer more natural light. The bed felt a little too soft for me, though that’s just personal preference. Still, a good stay.

The unit was pretty standard. There was some road noise, but it was manageable.
