Holiday Inn City Centre Christchurch

We had connecting rooms, and they were clean. The location is handy too, within walking distance of the Terrace and Riverside Markets. Staff were helpful: one person carried my wife’s luggage, and another suggested booking directly with Super Shuttle. Breakfast was great, and the lady working both days was absolutely lovely, even though she was on her own on the second day. I’d highly recommend this hotel in Christchurch.

There’s no hotel parking, but the Hereford St. garage is conveniently close. You’ll find lots of restaurants between Hereford and Oxford Terrace, and it’s an easy walk to the hop-on-hop-off tram route. The hotel is modern and central, though the lobby on Colombo St. is tiny. Our room and bathroom were modest, but everything worked, including the heated towel rack, the first one we’d found that actually did. Breakfast was pricey, but check-in came with a discount coupon, and the window tables have a good view. There’s also a small Robert Harris cafe around the corner on Hereford St. with good pastries and coffee.

Breakfast at the rooftop restaurant was great, and most of the central city is an easy walk away. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and my room was nice and quiet. I only wish there were Google/Android TV so guests could cast something to watch.

The rooftop bar has a great interior and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The room was quieter than expected since it didn’t face the street, though it was smaller than I’d expected from the website. The location is super convenient, next to the BNZ centre in Christchurch CBD and a short walk from shops, offices, restaurants, and the Fresh Choice supermarket. I’d stay again.
