Terra Vive Luxury Suites & Apartments

The staff were lovely, and our room had everything we needed plus a few extras for our two-night stay. It’s not especially modern, but that gave it a bit more of a homey feel. We’d stay again when we’re in Christchurch. Thank you!

We booked through the AirNZ website while arranging our flights to Christchurch, then had to cancel because a state of emergency was declared across Canterbury after Metservice issued a red wind warning. Most other services we’d booked in advance refunded us, but this owner wouldn’t offer even around six months of credit. Instead, we were charged the full amount, about $470 for three nights, the following day. We found that inflexible and unacceptable. We might have had a different experience with a proper hotel chain. In our view, this place shouldn’t be advertised on the AirNZ website.

This was our second stay in the suite, and we’ll come back next time we’re in Christchurch. It’s private, beautiful, and clean, with a comfortable bed, good kitchen, heating, and all the extras. The upholstery was nice and freshly cleaned, and the owner was friendly.

We found everything we needed, and the place was immaculately clean. The location is excellent, and the owner was very friendly and obliging. This is now our go-to when we visit Christchurch several times a year.
