YHA Christchurch Rolleston House

I spent one night in a mixed 6-bed dorm and liked it. It dropped to 1 / 2 outside overnight, but I didn't feel the cold inside. For an old house, it's insulated pretty well. A few more showers could be useful, although I didn't have to share one with anyone. Would recommend :)

The staff were lovely, and the kitchen was excellent, with fridges big enough for everyone to store food. The room had enough space and was quite clean, while the toilets and showers were good. There's a very nice park just a minute's walk away. The centre is 15 minutes away, and a large supermarket about 25 minutes away.

The location is fantastic, right across from the i-Site, Museum, and Botanical Gardens. YHA has two hostels, and this one is in a heritage building with fewer beds, so it feels laid-back and spacious. It's very clean, with large rooms, a large kitchen, and a really comfortable common area.

The location is very convenient, right by the city centre and opposite the Botanical gardens. The bathrooms were clean, the free wifi worked the whole time, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It can be a little loud outside because they're building something next door. All in all, a good experience at a nice hostel.
