Our cottage had two bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and a living area, plus a wide porch looking over the lawn to the water. It was a lovely private spot right on a small cove, with two cottages set apart from each other. There’s a sandy place to swim at high tide, and tropical trees line the paths through the beautiful gardens. The pleasant owner lives on site but gives you plenty of privacy.

Swimming at high tide, enjoying a glass of wine on the porch and reading in the hammock made our three-day stay feel like a perfect retreat for the soul. The gardens were beautiful, and the cottage was cosy and comfortable. Eateries and more lovely beaches are just a few minutes’ drive away. We didn’t want to leave.

Such a treat to listen to the birds and watch the tide come and go in this tucked-away piece of heaven in the far North. Bruce knows hospitality inside out and was an amazing host. We had great fun kayaking to the closest beach, and I’ll definitely come back.

We’ve stayed here three times now, and it feels like paradise looking out over your own cove. On this visit, our 18-year-old, who loves fishing, caught a good-sized snapper there one evening. If you want somewhere very unique, awesome and private, this is the place.
