Coromandel Shelly Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park

Our large group booked the whole lodge for five nights and had a fantastic time. It’s close to Coromandel and other amenities, so getting around was easy. The facilities were great and kept as clean as possible during a busy weekend, and the kids loved all there was to do, including special long-weekend activities. The main drawback was the lack of shade, especially by the pool and in communal areas. A shade sail over half the pool and a few umbrellas for the sunny picnic areas would make a big difference. We had a really good stay and would come back.

We loved this holiday park so much that our family, two adults and three young kids, extended a three-night stay to five. The owners and staff were warm, welcoming, and very helpful. Over the weekend before Halloween, they ran a costume parade, games, trick-or-treating, and a haunted house. The outdoor movies on the lawn by the beach were incredible, too. We bundled up with blankets and snacks. The pool was a huge hit, with a slide, a shallow area for little kids, water sprayers, and a dumping bucket. The amenities were meticulously cleaned and maintained, and there’s a coffee can on site. At low tide, there’s a walk to a Kauri tree loop, or you can try it at high tide if you’re adventurous, as I found out. The Harray/Medlock trails nearby are good for walking and mountain biking, and there’s a great set of skills tracks and a pump track for all abilities. Bikes can be borrowed for free. We’re travelling around the North Island, and this is by far the best holiday park we’ve stayed at. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

A really family-friendly campground with excellent service. The staff were super friendly and flexible when we needed to change our Booke booking. My kids loved the pool, and the place was impeccably clean and tidy. An excellent campground.

We came with two families and young kids, and everyone had a great time. The campground is a 10/10 holiday spot, and we'd happily return. The tent sites are roomy, everything was neat and well looked after, and the staff were so friendly. There was even a coffee cart beside the tents, which was a lovely bonus.
