Arcadian Motel

Hosts Lauren and Peter were welcoming and helpful, and there’s a convenience store an easy walk away. The Arcadian was the last stop on our week-long South Island road trip, and we couldn’t have asked for a better night’s sleep. The room was roomy, spotless, and comfortable, and after a long day driving, the shower’s excellent pressure was very welcome. We’d happily return. Highly recommended.

The beds are comfortable, and the shower and toilet bathrooms are very modern. The motel looks old fashioned from the outside, but the owners have worked hard to update the rooms and facilities. There’s a shared laundry with coin operated washing and drying machines, though it could be cleaner. Supermarkets, the city, and major fast food places are only minutes away. Check out the local Bakery and Coffee/Cake shop a few meters up from the Motel, or the fish-n-chip and Chinese takeaway across the street.

Friendly service, a comfy bed, a good sized room, and full kitchen facilities. It was quiet and we enjoyed our stay. Everything was great, though we got caught out because no bathroom amenities were supplied and we hadn’t brought any this time. Remember to pack body wash, hair products, and the like.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It’s an excellent hotel close to St Kilda beach.
