We had a lovely midweek getaway here, and the beautiful house made it a perfect setting. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. It’s an historic house that’s had a lot of work put into it, so please treat the property with respect. My wife and I loved our visit and would come back next time we’re in Dunedin.

Carole’s attention to every detail made this stay special, from the room temperature and comfortable bedding to the drapes, paintings, delicate scent and quiet, inspired music at breakfast. The Bard house brought back something like a childhood memory for me, as well as a feeling of stepping into the past. It’s a charming, artfully decorated 19th-century mansion right in central Dunedin, so we could walk everywhere without a car.
