Beach lodge motel

It worked well having us all in one place, and the location was handy for the Edgar Centre. We found the unit very accommodating and plan to book again in two years. A couple of small things could be better: tissues would be useful, and the bathroom mirror lighting wasn't great. A better lit mirror nearby would help, especially for those of us who need to get close to see clearly.

The staff were friendly and the unit was quiet, so we had a comfortable stay. It was spacious, older in style but clean and tidy, and there was a nice welcome cake. Daily servicing meant the rubbish was taken out and fresh towels were provided as needed. The shower pressure was very low, and the toilet cistern kept running because it was faulty.

Those little touches, like welcome chocolates and a handwritten card, made us feel at home. The owners were great and shared plenty of local knowledge. Our main room was bright, airy, spacious, and had a modern feel. The kitchen and bathroom were clean and usable, though dated, and I got the sense they are still a work in progress. We really enjoyed staying here, thanks for the hospitality.

The staff were lovely and quick to sort out the issues we had with the villa. We stayed in the three-bedroom villa, which was comfortable, and its powerful heat pump warmed all three rooms at night. As noted on the website, there was just one bathroom and one toilet, but it did the job for our stay. Parking had room for around three cars. I'd happily book again when we return to Dunedin, and recommend it.
