We loved the view of Dunedin from our balcony, and parking was easy with the car park right beside the property. The breakfast was flawless, served in a lovely sunlit room, and the eclectic pool room had plenty of charm. This is a stunning heritage property with a wonderful old-world feel. Our room was compact but very comfortable, with quality linens and beautiful decor. A thoroughly impressive stay, and I’d definitely recommend it.

Breakfast was fantastic, with warm, friendly service, and the hotel is less than a 10-minute walk from Dunedin’s main areas. It’s a hilly city, though. This is a beautiful boutique hotel with traditional character. We booked a top-floor king room with a balcony for one night, then asked to extend to two at the original rate. I was a little surprised the balcony was shared among several rooms, so other guests could walk past and see in if the curtains were open. The room was smaller than I expected, and the bathroom was compact; knowing that, I might have chosen one of the apparently more spacious rooms. It was warm at night despite the cool Dunedin weather, but the staff kindly brought a fan, which helped a little. The room also had a smart TV, a small fridge, complimentary water and milk, the usual tea, coffee and hot chocolate, plus dressing gowns, slippers and a nice amenities kit. The car park is on the second floor and reception on the ground floor, with no lift, so check which floor your room is on before carrying luggage up or down the stairs. The people running the hotel are lovely, and we’d like to come back in winter to enjoy its cozy feel.

The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, and breakfast was great. The rooms are small because this was once a church property, but they’ve been redone beautifully. The current owners have done a phenomenal job covering all the bases and creating a very high-quality stay, with lots of thoughtful little touches. I’d love to return.

The view is special, and the hotel itself has so much old-world charm. It’s a Dunedin boutique hotel in a lovingly restored ancient building, with beautiful rooms full of carefully chosen antiques, books and pictures. Ian and Kathy, from Kent, UK.

The owners were a delight and so thoughtful. When we checked in, complimentary snacks and essentials were waiting for us, and they seemed to have thought of everything. We stayed in October, and my partner and I were blown away by the tasteful renovation, stunning room and gorgeous view of Dunedin. Getting to the car park was easy. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, and had a calming feel. The little jars of jam were so cute I wanted to take them home. And Lola was the star of the show! We can’t wait to come back.
