Manor House Accommodation

We really enjoyed our stay. The manager was friendly and accommodating, and the place seems to be in much better shape than some recent reviews suggest. I think management has changed, and it looks like they’re making big improvements. Highly recommend!

I came with three children, and this place wasn’t suitable. After paying, I noticed more of how poor the facilities were and how unkempt everything felt. The steep, potholed drive meant we couldn’t take the car up. There were no real common areas, just two sofas pushed together, and rubbish piled outside the window. The bedroom was bare and depressing. The kitchen seemed reasonable, but there was no heating except for a small radiator at the edge of the high-ceilinged room. It also smelled of weed. The owner eventually gave me a full refund.

We turned up at the last minute, and the man at reception welcomed us right away and was very helpful. We had a large room for two, and the charming house felt like home. It came across more as a big shared apartment than a hostel. Clean linen was available, the washing machines were free, and the price was good for what we got.

I felt welcome for my whole stay, and the owner is lovely, with a cute little puppy. The place has a relaxed, easy-going vibe, and the staff are helpful. It’s really cheap, and the rooms are no worse than hostels I’ve paid more for. The kitchen is well stocked with spices, seasonings, and baking goods. Five out of five, would recommend. I wish I could have stayed longer.
