The property is beautiful and well maintained, with lovely views and a peaceful setting. The problem was how the guest numbers and price were handled. An apology was offered at first for the check-in confusion, but later we were told the mistake was entirely ours. I understood the extra charge, but clearer communication and a formal change in Booking.com before taking the higher payment would have kept things from feeling uncomfortable. Future guests might want to confirm the total price and number of guests when they arrive.

I stayed one night, then headed on to Kaikoura Canterbury to visit the Dolphin Centre. I'd come to Akaroa-Duvauchelle in October 2025 for a visit to the Blue Penguin Farm, and Twin Gully was a highlight. Set high on a hill, the hotel has fantastic views of the sea, valley and surrounding nature. You can look out over the sea from the pool. The owner, Asher, was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and I felt very welcome. The breakfast room is wonderful, and the rooms are stylish, thoughtfully decorated and have fantastic views. It almost feels like a little castle. It's easy to find with a GPS, and I recommend staying 2-3 nights after all the tourist activities. What a lovely spot, and such glorious hours in your lovely castle. It was the best place for me. See you again. Gine

The area around Twin Gullies is absolutely stunning, with so much to see and do. Our family of 4 stayed in this boutique accommodation, and the rooms were well kept and very comfortable. The kids had a great time playing in the pool and watching the local wildlife. 100% recommend Twin Gullies.

We stayed here while doing a photoshoot, and the place didn't disappoint. Awesome location, great staff and an epic view. 10/10, would recommend to anyone considering a stay.
