we were surprised by how cute and clean the motel was after reading earlier reviews. the new owners have clearly put in a lot of work, and we met them, they were lovely and really helpful. our room and linen were super clean and fresh, and the bathroom was clean too. the kitchen had everything we needed, plus there's a handy little laundry room on site. we stayed a couple of nights and found it a great base for exploring franz josef, while still being outside the city. would definitely recommend.

We had a comfortable couple of nights here, with really great service from the crew. It’s a handy base for the Franz Joseph glacier walks and heli-rides. The room was clean and bug-free, but the smell of cleaning product or bug spray was quite strong and stayed with us the whole time. That was the one drawback.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was clean, practical and comfortable too. It was convenient to park right outside. The location is peaceful and very walkable, about 2km from the town centre. At check-in I was welcomed by a very jovial, friendly gentleman, which got my stay off to a lovely start. My only issue was low shower pressure. With my long hair I couldn't wash it, though that wasn't a big deal for me. If you have long hair, you might want to wash it somewhere else or use dry shampoo. I loved my time at the Glacier View Motel. Thanks for having me 😊

The views were stunning from every direction, and we even got a bonus visit from the ponies at the back of the property, which our 2.5 year old loved. Peter & Carol made us feel welcome straight away. They’re super friendly motel hosts, and the rooms were immaculately clean. We loved our stay, thanks for a great time!

The setting is very picturesque, and the accommodation was clean and comfortable. Service was friendly too. It’s a lovely Motel, and I can definitely recommend it, though walking there may be difficult for less fit visitors. It’s also a little far to reach town without transport.
