Te Awa Cottage is a cozy place with a fantastic glacier view. It has the essentials for a comfortable stay, including a TV, clean bathroom, fridge and simple cooking utensils. Just note there are no washing machines, so plan ahead if you’ll be there for a longer stay. A charming spot if you like simple accommodation and beautiful scenery.

The positives were the convenient location near town, spacious room, nice view and free parking. But our stay was pretty bad overall. The toilet was clogged with the previous guest’s waste, and flushing made the water rise in the bowl. We texted the host, Isaac, but didn’t hear back until checkout day. For 2.5 days we were stuck with a broken, smelly toilet. The wifi was so weak it barely worked. It connected for a few minutes, then dropped out, so we had to use mobile data.

The place was quiet and peaceful, and the rooms were comfortable and well-appointed. I got a lot of work done during my two days there. The location is convenient to town and really beautiful. Each morning the mountains looked striking, and I could see them from bed in the full moonlight. One rainy day, the mist gathered beautifully against the mountains.

The view was a real wow. The cottage was extremely clean and very spacious for the two of us, in a brilliant spot just outside town. My husband has complained about beds and pillows all around the country, but these got his approval. I added a night and a day photo from the deck!

A lovely, clean cottage with nice mountain views and just a short drive into town. The owners were good to communicate with. It was closer to the highway than the photos had led us to expect, which took away a little from the peaceful, private feeling.
