The check-in was rather impersonal. A key was left for me to let myself in, and I hardly interacted with any staff during my stay. The self-service setup may suit some, but it felt more like an Airbnb than the boutique hotel or traditional B&B I expected from such a lovely property. Still, The Vicarage is good value, with beautiful rooms, pristine presentation and thoughtful amenities, if you’re comfortable with a more hands-off style of hospitality. The room itself was impressive, and the guest lounge was just as well-appointed. Everything was exceptionally clean, with a polished, professional look throughout, and the complimentary port in the lounge was a lovely touch. The amenities were carefully chosen, and there seemed to be everything you could need. I recently stayed at The Vicarage and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the accommodation and the attention to detail. Four out of five.

Sweet treats and drinks were waiting when I arrived, though I won’t spoil the surprise. The rooms are beautiful and thoughtfully put together, with handy details like a tiny stocked kitchen, real milk in the fridge for coffee, well-placed mood and reading lamps, hanging space, and lovely NZ bath products. This hotel is an absolute gem!

The amenities couldn’t have been better, and the decor and details were top notch. It was a stop during a long road trip, and I wish we could have stayed longer. There was no interaction with a human being at the property, but everything worked out. What a beautiful hotel!

Everything about my stay at the Vicarage was superb. The staff were welcoming, efficient and professional. Room 5 recognising Rev’d J. Hayhoe suited me perfectly, with a KS bed that let me sleep comfortably and a lovely big shower. The thoughtful extras make a difference too, like the soft bathrobes and Nespresso machine. I highly recommend the Vicarage when you’re in Geraldine.

We had the privilege of staying in the Vicarage, right in the centre of the lovely village of Geraldine. It has only 7 rooms and a fascinating history. Our room was a sheer pleasure, beautifully finished, with a great bed and bed linen, and a lovely bathroom. There’s a Nespresso machine too.
