Antares Homestay

The pool, spa, views, and location were incredible. Mandy and Patrick are lovely and made us feel right at home, and each morning brought a beautiful fresh breakfast with a smile. What a stunning little paradise. We’ll certainly be back, thanks again, team 🤩

We could borrow bikes and visit several nearby wineries, and the hosts kindly suggested some vineyards to try. After a day of wine tasting, the clean pool and warm hot tub were a lovely way to unwind under the stars. The location is great, and my husband found a real treasure at Antares Homestay. Thanks, Mandy and Patrick, for all your suggestions. We’ll be back. Breakfast was delicious: yogurt, berries, muesli, assorted breads, jams, coffee of our choice, and eggs cooked just the way we wanted. Our large room had plenty of windows overlooking the gardens, and there was a lounge area that gave us lots more space, plus a full kitchen. We could also eat outside. The relaxed feeling started as soon as we drove down the entrance. Our hostess was there to greet us and was delightful, considerate, and informative.

The place is so tranquil, out in the country near the vineyards but far enough away for a peaceful walk or bike ride. Mandy’s breakfasts are delicious, and the inside and outdoor shared areas are wonderful. The rooms are nicely appointed, and the pool, hot tub, and bikes to borrow make the stay feel special. The grounds and setting are lovely, much better than the website pictures suggest. Karen and Pat were exceptionally kind hosts.

We liked it so much that we booked a third night. It’s peaceful and relaxing, with a traffic-free cycle path literally behind the grounds, and they’ll provide bikes if you want them, free for a two-night stay. Mandy and Patrick made us feel at home and were so welcoming. After booking, we got a personalised email full of useful tips and ideas for things to do nearby. Breakfast is included, with lots of homemade produce. There are plenty of spots in the beautifully kept grounds to sit quietly in the sun or shade, along with a pool, hot tub, lounge, and full kitchen. It’s a real gem, just a short, flat 1.5km walk along a quiet country road to the Fancy Cow brewery & restaurant, and even closer to the Vines Village. Vines surround the property.
