The accommodation was comfortable, and the facilities were good. It’s very close to town, but access and parking at the rear unit we stayed in weren’t ideal. The drive is steep and narrow, so parking outside the unit took some care: too close and you couldn’t get out on one side of the car, while too far out blocked the driveway. Reaching the unit meant walking past other units’ doors, unless you climbed over the barrier beside the drive, which isn’t an option for many.

The motel’s in a convenient spot, and we had a pleasant one-night stay. Abby was friendly from my first phone call about booking and offered us a good price for our family of seven. She even picked us up from Greymouth train station. Her mum helped us during our stay too, despite being busy.

Quiet, plenty of parking, and spacious modern rooms that were comfortable too. We got a friendly, helpful welcome, and there were lots of nice, useful touches, including great little milk bottles. Definitely worth staying again.

The room was lovely and had everything we needed to cook and wash up afterwards. The staff were professional and helpful, and the location is excellent, very close to the TranzAlpine train station. A great place!

The rooms were spacious and had the amenities we needed. Abby, the owner, was super friendly, and the location is great for the TranzAlpine. Thanks for the Monteith's recommendation!
