A stroll on the walkway beside the Mighty Waikato River was so relaxing, and we loved seeing the native trees thriving in this pretty spot. We spent two nights at Awa Retreat and would happily stay again when we next visit Hamilton. The apartment was clean, tidy, and had all the comforts of home. The birdlife just outside was delightful, and breakfast was beautiful too. Cathy and Murray were so friendly, like old friends. Thanks for opening your lovely home to us. It’s about a 30 minute walk to the CBD along the river. A great place to stay, with a lovely couple who’ll look after you, and the price is very reasonable.

I brought my 10 year old, and she loved it. We had a delicious breakfast and really friendly service. The rooms were clean, tidy, and modern, and the location was wonderful. It felt so relaxing and comfortable.

Murray and Kath are lovely, and they know how to make a great breakfast. The modern, comfortable unit had everything we needed for a breakaway. Such a good little hidden gem in Hamilton, highly recommend it.

The hosts make a wonderful breakfast. It’s a charming, modern little place, but it really is tiny. Even though it technically sleeps three, I’d say it’s best for a couple.
