The rooms were clean, comfortable and roomy, with a layout I loved. Clean towels and other supplies were provided each day, and rubbish was cleared daily. The kitchen had utensils, a toaster, a jug, pots, pans and cutlery. The hosts were really lovely, friendly and helpful. Thank you to them 👌

My daughter and I stayed here off and on from November 2023 until April or May 2025, travelling from Gisborne while my son was an inpatient at Waikato. This place was lovely and so comfortable, with everything you need when you’re here for a sick family member. It’s nice and close to the hospital. The owner was welcoming and lovely, and always great about any requests we had. We got fresh towels daily and the rooms were cleaned. My son stayed with us a couple of times and was always welcome. My husband and younger daughter also came up for some weekends from Gisborne, and the owner never had a problem with that.

I’d read a lot online before coming, and we’ve enjoyed a relaxing stay while waiting for our baby to arrive. The hosts are very good, and though there are a couple of minor things they could work on, the staff are awesome, friendly and polite without being intrusive. The free shuttle to and from the hospital is great, and they offer accommodation for people with family at the hospital. I’d recommend this motel/lodge for a relaxed, hassle-free stay.

We booked a place for the driver and support person to stay while surgery was happening at Waikato Hosp. The family room was quiet, clean, and well equipped, with a full kitchen and separate bedrooms, so it worked really well for a longer stay. It’s also convenient, only 2 km from the hospital.
