Petra was incredibly understanding and helped us through the whole process when we had to postpone because we were unwell. Nothing was a problem, and we’re looking forward to staying again. I’ve stayed at hanmer villas several times with my family, and we love it. Amazing customer service, thank you Petra 🤗

Reading the recent reviews, I saw one from a year ago about the door locks in unit 459, and that issue still hasn’t been fixed. The toilet light cover is exposed, and the stove is a huge health and safety risk: it works on its own, and one element turns on to max without any dials being turned. For a premium price, you definitely don’t get premium accommodation. We tried going to the office, less than 90 metres from the villa, but no one was ever there. I also raised it by email, but they didn’t read or respond. In the edit, their reply said the stove was okay on pre-inspection, but it clearly wasn’t if turning on one element caused another to come on too. They also said I hadn’t phoned. I was on holiday and didn’t want to waste my time calling. Why not respond to emails instead of making me go to council? Eight days later, they still hadn’t read it. Don’t try to make me out to be in the wrong when you haven’t done your part as host.

The lake outlook was great, and Unit 459 is close to the town centre. We had a good stay overall, with nice beds, a comfortable lounge, air con, a modern tv that takes USB drives or devices, and a good choice of channels. The toilet paper was decent too, lol, so hopefully that’s the norm. Some maintenance needs attention. The door locks were loose and wobbly, and several floors creaked badly, including in the kitchen and around the bathroom. The mezzanine bedroom has no ensuite, so you have to go downstairs. In winter the downstairs is warm, but heat rises and makes the mezzanine bedroom hot. The shower was okay but not especially powerful, though that’s no deal breaker. A combustion heater would be nice in winter. I’d go back, but hope they’ve kept up with general maintenance.

The villas are warm and spacious, and it’s a beautiful spot close to everything in Hanmer. The upstairs bedroom got so warm from the fireplace that we slept with the window open all weekend, even though it was the middle of winter.
