The river was a favourite with our three Dachshunds, who loved swimming there, and we enjoyed the walks around the camp. We checked with the owners beforehand about bringing them, and it was no problem. We stayed four nights over Waitangi weekend in our Caravan on a powered site. The view, facilities, site, and owners were all excellent. Showers were very good, and having laundry on site was a real help. We loved the old-school kiwi feel, especially how family and pet friendly it was. We'll definitely be back!

We found it uncrowded, with clean bathrooms and a kitchen that had everything we needed. The hosts were helpful and very friendly. We bought some beetroot chutney and really liked it. They also have different kinds of marmelade and chutneys. We stayed one night at riverside haven lodge, and it was very good value for what we paid in NZ. Can recommend it to everyone ☺️

Everything was spotless, and we never had to wait for the kitchen or sanitary facilities. The grounds are spacious and peaceful, with plenty of greenery and trees beside the river. The owners were wonderfully helpful and made us feel at home. We had a quiet stay at this lovely campsite. At 9.5, it was excellent value for money. I'd pick Riverside Haven Lodge & Holiday Park over the famous, expensive campsites.

The couple who run this pretty, peaceful campsite were so friendly, and there was loads of room at each site. We had everything we needed, and the facilities were clean, fresh, and well looked after. Being by the river was lovely, and it made a perfect stop on our way to Mt Cook. We paid $35 a night for two people on a powered site, plus $2 for a 6 minute shower. Gorgeous campsite :)

Really friendly hosts, and the place is clean, private, and very affordable. It's a great spot to pitch a tent for a weekend away with my dog. I'll be back.
