Cubby House Stay

Cubby House is just a few minutes' drive from Kaikoura, and the house was spotless and comfortable. The kitchen had every amenity I could need. The hosts welcomed me warmly and were happy to show me around the farm. I loved seeing all the animals. It was such a unique visit, and I can't wait to return to Cubby House on my next trip.

We loved this quirky, home-from-home place. Leanne & Richard were incredibly helpful. On a cold day when we arrived, there was already a fire going, and the fridge was stocked with goodies for our stay.

This stay became one of the biggest highlights of our New Zealand trip. Leanne was so warm and hospitable that we'll always remember our time in this little paradise. We met and patted all the farm animals while hearing their sweet stories, which made it feel personal and memorable. The house was cozy, clean, and full of quirky touches, including artwork left by past guests. It had everything we needed: a really well-equipped kitchen where we could froth milk and enjoy farm eggs, games, a piano, and torchlights for stargazing in the peaceful farm setting. Leanne got in touch as soon as we booked Cubby Farm Stay and sent a detailed, useful guide, especially helpful for international visitors. It covered the farm and ways to save on groceries and fuel. She even picked us up from the airport and gave us a mini tour of Kaikoura. Such a thoughtful thing to do.

Our kids loved the games and the excellent farm tour, and we had a really enriching visit. We also had a great chat with Leanne and her husband Richard. The Cubby House is super homely, with a lovely layout, comfy sofas, blankets, and a wood burner. Everything was very clean, and the cupboards and fridge were fully stocked. Leanne was an amazing host. One of the best stays we've had anywhere in the world, and we've stayed in a fair few places. Highly recommended.
