We had a fantastic time at Manakau Lodge and would highly recommend it. The mountain and sea views are stunning, and there's so much luxurious space to relax and unwind. At night, we loved the crackling fire in the spacious lounge and the generous spa beneath the spectacular sky. Then it was off to the comfortable beds in beautifully appointed rooms. The hosting was wonderful, every detail had been thought through, and there were endless ways to explore the region. We'll be back!

The kids were happy helping feed the chickens in the owners’ barn next door, and when rain kept us inside, the board games came in handy. Manakau Lodge was lovely, with mountain views and a thoughtfully furnished space, including a fully working kitchen. It’s a bit of a drive from Christchurch, but a peaceful, beautiful retreat is what we wanted. Kaikoura town, with its restaurants and other amenities, is only a few minutes away by car. We stayed in October 2023 and would highly recommend it.

We took their ATV Adevnture tour and got to see one of the best views in Kaikōura. It was well worth adding to our stay. Back at Manakau Lodge, it felt quiet and remote even though town was close by. The clear night sky and stars were incredible, and the place had everything we needed to relax. Thoughtful details throughout gave it a luxurious feel. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend it.

Chef Rob Cullen treated us to a mouth-watering 5-course dinner, and Janice had the fire going before we arrived. We spent an unforgettable weekend at Manakau Lodge with friends. Janice’s hospitality was unmatched, and the whole experience was unbelievable from beginning to end. A piece of my heart is still there. We’ll be back!

The views from every room were fantastic, and the lodge was clean and well equipped. Janice was a thoughtful, wonderful host, and we truly enjoyed staying at Manakau Lodge. It was the best accommodation of our two weeks on South Island NZ. Thanks again, Janice!
