We had our two dogs with us, and loved staying here. The room was great, with a kitchenette and waterfront views. There was a car park and EV charging, and Main Street was close and easy to walk to. Highly recommended.

The sea views were lovely, and parking was easy. It’s about a 50-minute walk into central Kaikoura, which is a bit of a trek, though only a few minutes by car. We had a great welcome, and the room was spotless and stocked with cooking gear, towels, toiletries, WiFi, and even milk. Would happily recommend it.

The ocean is just across the road, with a good park within walking distance and town not too far away. We also found a great local restaurant nearby. Our unit was tidy and very clean, and the staff were friendly and wonderfully accommodating when we booked at short notice during a busy time with little accommodation available in Kaikōura. We stayed three nights, and the views were the best we’ve had from a motel. Thanks, we’ll come back.

We had a great sea view from the room. We booked the upper king studio because the lower one wasn’t available, though the view seems likely to be similar from either. If the lower king studio is free, I’d choose that. The room was roomy and clean, but the shower was small and the hot water took a while to run.

Our upstairs room was comfortable and very clean, though it looked a little dated. The shower felt cramped and the water flow was weak. Being able to bring our dog was much appreciated. The motel’s location is hard to beat, and The Pier Hotel is an easy walk for dinner.
