We only stayed one night at the Sierra beach front motel, but the whole family enjoyed it. Our family room was clean, cosy, and lovely, and it’s a quiet, simple spot right by the beach. Brad was especially kind and helped me fix something on my car. He has a workshop where he builds race cars himself, and it was really interesting hearing about his passion. Thanks again, Brad. We’d recommend staying here.

We left a camping pot and spatula behind by mistake and called as soon as we noticed, the same day we checked out. We were told they wouldn’t courier them because anything left behind gets thrown in the bin. It feels very disrespectful of guests’ belongings not to contact us when something was found during cleaning, and to put it straight in the rubbish. Check carefully that you have everything before you leave.

The room was in a really disappointing state. The couch was badly worn, torn, and hidden under a fabric cover. That’s not what I expect from a motel. The whole place could use a makeover, and it was the shabbiest motel we stayed in during our trip around the South Island.
