Karamea River Motels

Alison greeted us out front and looked after us with cheerful service right up to our departure the next day. After finishing the Heaphy Track, we were ready for some comforts, and the big, well-appointed rooms were just what we wanted. We made good use of the showers and the roomy self-service laundry. The village, just up the road, had great food and hospitality options, so we had everything we wanted and more. Thanks, Alison, you're a customer service star.

Alison made us feel very welcome and was helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, making this a great place to put our feet up after the Heaphy Track. Really, it'd be a lovely place to stay anytime. We hope to come back and explore more of the area.

We only booked one night, and quickly wished we'd had another. Our two-bedroom unit had plenty of space for the family, lovely views over the rural setting, warm comfortable beds, a great shower and a well-equipped kitchen. In the morning we were delighted to spot llamas in the field outside. A fantastic place to stay in Karamea, and we’ll have to return.

After a day exploring, it was lovely to have sofas to relax on, and the spacious shower had great water pressure. Our unit was spotless and comfortable, with daily servicing throughout our five-night stay. We enjoyed seeing the sheep, alpacas and, of course, the wekas. Self-catering was easy, with eateries and a supermarket close by. Excellent accommodation and a lovely host.
