Sudima Auckland Airport

Qantas arranged our night here after our flight was cancelled, and we felt lucky to land at such a nice hotel. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed having an outdoor dining patio. There's also a heated indoor pool at a lovely temperature for swimming or relaxing, with seating nearby. The hotel was spotless, and our room had a lovely big window with an open view. Staff were really friendly, the bar had decent drink options, and the robot waiter was an entertaining novelty. Highly recommend if you need somewhere near the airport.

My kids loved that room service arrived by robot, and they want to come back. This was their first hotel stay, and we were so glad we chose this place. Both my children are on the spectrum, so going away was a big deal for us. The hotel was very clean, the staff were lovely, and we had the buffet breakfast included. There's a pool too. Highly recommend, and thank you for having us.

The pool and gym were great, though the water may have been too warm for my taste. The location suited our trip perfectly: close to the airport and motorway, and we weren't planning to walk to attractions. The room worked fine for us, just like the other Sudima rooms we've stayed in. I've had no problems at those hotels, which was a big reason for choosing this one. Reception replied quickly and were very polite. I rarely give five stars, but I couldn't find fault here. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in NZ.

The staff were friendly and kindly brought us milk overnight, but as a family of four with children aged 10 and 2, we found the stay disappointing. The pool is 1.2m deep all the way through, which isn't child-friendly, especially for younger kids. Our toilet door lock was broken, too. The room temperature was set automatically to 21°C with no manual adjustment, and it became extremely hot overnight, as if the air-conditioning had stopped working. That made the night uncomfortable with the children. There was no microwave for guests or staff to use, and when we asked, the team said they couldn't warm the milk. We ended up heating water in a kettle and warming the bottle in it, which wasn't ideal in the middle of the night. A family hotel should make it easier to warm a child's milk. Management should review its policies as times change. Health and safety matter, but customer comfort and satisfaction should be a priority in hospitality. A few improvements could make the stay much better.
