We liked it enough to add another night to our stay. Kauri Park Motel is quiet, close to town, and has a nice Thai restaurant next door. Jacqui, the host, was super friendly and accommodating. We stayed one night at the start of January 2026 and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break.

It was a very relaxing place, and the price was really reasonable. My wife said the birdsong in the morning made it feel like we were on a tropical island. Simply amazing, and highly recommended.

The garden is lush and beautiful, full of birdlife, and we enjoyed the delicious meal and very good service at the Thai restaurant next door. The staff here were friendly, helpful and well travelled. Our stay had everything we needed: a very large, comfortable bed, a well equipped kitchen, bathroom essentials, Sky TV channels and allocated parking. One thing to consider is that the shower over the spa bath could be difficult for anyone with even mild mobility issues. I believe there are also rooms with walk-in showers.

The hosts were welcoming and very helpful. Our one bedroom apartment was clean, tidy and comfortable. I’d happily recommend this place to anyone after a quiet, relaxing stay.

Kauri Park Motel was an excellent fit for what I needed, and then some. It’s close to the airport, with beautiful rooms that were spotless and elegantly styled. The hosts were lovely too. A very well equipped place to stay.
