The owner seems to really care about how guests feel. The bathroom toiletries are excellent, and coming back to a perfectly clean room each day was lovely. It has the comforts you’d expect from a five-star resort.

I spent one night at this lovely farmhouse. It’s small, but very quiet and away from the city bustle, around a 10-minute drive from Queenstown. At night, the stars above and snow-covered mountains in the distance were so refreshing to look at. The host was welcoming, and the kitchen was roomy and easy to cook in. Winter was a bit cold, though the outdoor spa was a nice way to warm up.

The extractor fan didn’t work, and the kitchen was pretty greasy.
