A great base for exploring the hiking areas and lakes near Lake tekapo, and town is only a minute away by car. There’s plenty of space for a family across the four rooms, and the kitchen is very well equipped. The house is very new, clean, and tidy, with two bathrooms. The indoor fireplace is great, and there’s plenty of precut firewood ready to use. In summer, the outdoor area and its fireplace would be amazing too.

There’s everything two people need in this lovely self-contained cottage, including a comfortable bed. The heat pump can cool the place on hot Tekapo summer days, or keep it warm in winter. It’s an easy walk down to the centre of Tekapo if you can’t be bothered cooking.

A really warm, cosy place, and the outdoor fire was excellent. The firewood was already stacked and ready, so we didn’t have to think about it.
