After 44 days travelling around both the North and South Islands of New Zealand, Bushhouse was one of the best places we stayed. It felt like a home away from home. The house was spacious and set up for relaxing. The kitchen was a cook’s dream, with all the appliances and utensils we needed, and having a full washer and dryer was a lifesaver after weeks on the road. We loved unwinding in the large living room and on the lovely back patio. The beds were very comfortable, as were the pillows and couch. There’s genuinely nothing negative to say. Bushhouse exceeded our expectations in every way.

The lake and walking tracks are easy to reach at the end of the drive, and it’s about a five-minute walk along the lakefront to the village centre. There’s no lake view from the house, which sits in a lovely bush setting. The booking agent was welcoming at check-in, and the place was easy to find. The three-bedroom house was clean, warm, and comfortable, with two bathrooms, a full laundry, smart TV, and a well-equipped kitchen. There isn’t much open space for kids to run around, but it is called the Bush House. It was a great choice for two tired mums getting away from the kids, and worth the money we paid. Thanks heaps.
