I thought the small all-in-one-room unit was way overpriced for what you get. There were black marks all over the walls and bathroom door. They say there’s a surcharge if you leave a mess, but I wonder whether everyone gets charged, since those marks clearly never get cleaned off. There was an artificial plant on the bathroom windowsill covered in black mould, and the sill itself had wet black mould around it. The ventilation to the outside was filthy too, which is bad for someone like me with asthma.

The check-in directions were clear, there was no deposit required despite what some reviews said, and the host was easy to reach. I’d suggest arriving before dark so it’s easier to find the unit. Inside, it was sparkling clean and spacious, with a lovely courtyard, and the bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, and the 2-in-1 washer and dryer and dishwasher made chores easier. Parking right outside was convenient, and Lake Tekapo was under a five-minute drive away. My only suggestion is to separate the shower’s wet and dry areas. We stayed in early November 2024 and had a wonderful time. Highly recommend!

It felt like a home away from home. The three-bedroom apartment house was spacious and comfortable, clean, and decorated in bright colors. We cooked in the well-equipped kitchen, which had a large dishwasher, and the big fridge was a real plus for keeping fresh produce. There was a good washer-dryer and soap powder, and the owner thoughtfully left a small bottle of cooking oil, plus salt and pepper. The bathrooms were heated and generously stocked with shower cream, shampoo, and conditioner. We really liked the place.

For an affordable stay, the room was excellent. The air-conditioning was positioned just right, the TV was large, and the shower had plenty of space. The owner was helpful with some things we left behind and met up with us to return them.
