We stayed at Tractor Shed in Lake Tekapo with our large family, and the spacious property was breathtaking. The kids enjoyed the games and movies, and we had everything we needed, from utensils to linens. It’s an ideal location, just a short walk from everything. We were fortunate to see what may have been the season’s last snowfall. The service was excellent too: after I got back to Australia, I realized I’d left my wallet behind. The team tracked it down and sent it back to me, and I’m incredibly grateful. I highly recommend the property and its service, and I’ll be back when we visit New Zealand again.

Strangers broke into the property and took it over after we had booked. The host refused to compensate us for our losses, and the security has serious loopholes. I’d avoid all homestays run by this group.

The cabin’s interior design is distinctive, but there’s no air conditioning, and it can get a little hot in the sun.
