This was going to be our third stay, and the other two had been very good. We booked early Friday morning for the following Saturday, then learned that the horse we wanted to watch at Trentham had been scratched because of extreme rainfall. Very early Saturday morning, we heard the races had been postponed until the following Wednesday and asked Tom to move our booking. He said the refund policy meant we had to make a new booking and pay again. Even though they might have relet the unit during the 24 hours available, Tom wouldn't budge. He doesn't seem to understand customer goodwill, and we won't stay there again when we visit Trentham.

We come back about once a year and are never disappointed. The hosts are very helpful, and the room is small but well equipped and clean to my wife's exacting standards. There's air conditioning and plenty of parking. It's handy for travellers, with eateries in town within walking distance. Set farther from SH1 and the railway than most of Levin, it's relatively quiet.

Mum and I had a great room for our trip, with a queen bed in the bedroom and a single bed in the kitchen dining area. She's on the short side, so the bathroom mirror was too high for her. She just did her makeup at the dining table 😆. The location is fantastic, with no road noise, and the rooms were very clean. Friendly staff too. I'd recommend it if you're looking for somewhere quiet, set well back from the main road.

We've stayed here twice now and are already looking forward to coming back. It's a quiet, very clean hidden gem in Levin, and the town is within walking distance.

The host was welcoming and friendly, and even switched our room proactively to make parking our vehicle easier. The room was immaculate and well equipped. A five star review doesn't really do this place justice. Shame we only stayed one night. Thanks.
