Lochmara Lodge

The underwater observatory was a real highlight, with lots of sea life and knowledgeable staff leading guided tours and sharing interesting marine biology facts. We also saw incredible bioluminescence, and the glow worms were super cool. It was lovely to see the care taken with rehabilitating and looking after the animals on the property. We were there for my mum’s 60th birthday, and the staff did so much to make it special. Ashley deserves a mention too, she was lovely and worked incredibly hard. There are beautiful walks, SUPs, and kayaks to enjoy, and even in the rain it’s a relaxing place to be. We had a wonderful stay and would happily come back. 10/10.

The setting gave us a great space for connection, reflection, and conversation. The accommodation, food, and hospitality were all exceptional, with a special mention for the cheese scones. Unstoppable Force held the 520 2-day Muster at Lochmara Lodge over two days in May. From my first contact with Niki, she and the team made everything easy and handled the event logistics, so I could focus on my clients. Outstanding people and a fantastic experience. We’ll definitely be back.

The glow worms after dark were really special, and the walks had incredible views during the day. It was a lovely place to relax and recharge. We’ve just had two nights at Lochmara Lodge, and the accommodation, restaurant, and service were all fantastic. Thanks to the team for such a wonderful stay. We’ll definitely recommend it to others.

The food was good, though there were way too many chips on our plates. I’d happily pay the same for half the amount, since we wasted so much. We always stop at Lochmara during our annual holiday in the sounds. It’s iconic, and there’s no better spot to sit in the sun for a couple of hours with a glass of wine. The staff are all lovely. Yesterday, one staff member knew guests by name and was taking photos for them, and the gentleman at the jetty was informative and incredibly helpful. Reception and the gift shop staff were friendly too. I imagine it gets hectic when it’s busy, though we always visit on a quieter weekday at the end of January. See you next year, Lochmara!
