The kitchen area was nice to use, breakfast was okay, and everything was clean. The place is central and has free parking. But the room was so tiny there wasn't even room for our suitcases, and it was the weirdest place we stayed during our trip to NZ. With no AC and no window screens, insects poured in during the hot days. There was no way to cool the room because it had no through ventilation. The bathroom was awkward too, with no exhaust fan, shelves, or hooks, so there was nowhere for toiletries and the towels stayed wet. Our room was by the kitchen, and with the windows open we heard cars and everyone getting up early. Absolutely wouldn't recommend it.

John was such a good host, easy to talk to and full of ideas for places to visit. The location worked perfectly, within walking distance of Eat Streat, the amazing playground for the kids, and Kuirau Park. The service was friendly and accommodating, the place was very clean, and the rooms were cleaned daily. The beds were super comfy. Highly recommend.

Nine of us stayed here over the Labour weekend, and it worked fantastically for a big group. Our host Barry was friendly and really helpful. The rooms had just been done up, and the beds were nice and comfortable.

We had the space and comforts of home each night, which made this a great base for a longer family stay right in the centre of things. The staff were excellent, and their cleaning and quick response to issues set a very high standard. A great way to visit the town.

The hosts were really friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable with enough linen and towels. Just be aware, the wooden floors and thin walls mean you can hear other guests when they're around.
