Rotorua Thermal Holiday Park

My kids loved the pool, family spa, playground, and basketball hoops. The cabins were spacious and clean, and the park is close to Rotorua township. It was the best Waitangi weekend, at the best holiday park I’ve stayed in. One cleaning lady did yell at my two-year-old grandson for lifting the outdoor checkers on the game board. I’m not sure why it’s there if kids can’t play with it, lol. Anyway, it was an awesome weekend away. Thanks to the ladies in the office for the hospitality. We’ll definitely be back.

The motorhome pitches were okay, and there’s a covered walkway to reach the amenities. The layout is a bit odd, with two concrete pads for the wheels. In a long motorhome you have to park sideways, which makes it hard to get level. The facilities are old and could use a refurb, especially the bathroom, but they were clean, which matters most. There are several pools, including a kids' swimming pool and four hot pools. It’s a nice park not too far from town, and the friendly staff made arrival easy. All in all, a great stay, and I’d come back if I’m in Rotorua again.

The hot pool was a treat, and we enjoyed the views of some of the area's volcanic features. We stayed in the campground beneath a big tree by the washrooms and cookhouse. There were good washing machines, a large kitchen with barbecues, and a lounge with games and a TV room. I didn’t use the swimming pool, but it looked nice.

Everything looked clean and tidy, and I was glad they placed me in a dorm with another woman. The beds were comfortable, and each dorm had a kettle and sink. Booking a dorm bed was great value because you can use all the facilities, including the hot thermal pools.
