The garden view from our immaculate room was lovely, and Tina served a really nice breakfast each morning. Abel Tasman Lodge is an easy walk from the National Park walking track, and Abel Tasman Water Taxis is right next door, which made for a great location.

Tina was a big help when there was a mix-up with our water taxi booking. She called and got it sorted, and also gave us some really useful suggestions and information. We enjoyed our three nights here, with the park, two restaurants, and water taxis all conveniently close by. Breakfast is fairly simple, but made with excellent local ingredients, and we ended up eating more than we needed before our active days. The French press coffee was a welcome touch since we’re not keen on the usual instant packets. It’s a very nice setting, too.

The lodge’s main draw is where it sits, right by the entrance to the national park. The owners are friendly and clearly make an effort, though the place is starting to look its age and the furnishings are worn. It could use an update.

Such a lovely wee room, with a great nature view, and you can book the hot tub for half an hour. My partner and I stayed two nights and honestly loved it. The people were so nice, and there’s a great little food truck, the fat Tui, just down the road!

The owner was so kind and friendly. We had a really enjoyable stay, with a roomy, nicely decorated room and a very comfortable bathroom. The shared kitchen was well equipped, including BBQ grills.
