The bush around the campground is lovely, and that made the poor upkeep stand out even more. The toilets were clean when we arrived, but unusable by the next morning and weren't cleaned again during our two-night stay. The kitchen was disgusting too, especially the filthy benchtop oven. With only two other caravans there, the facilities still weren't being looked after. We were glad our caravan had its own toilet. A regular clean would make a big difference, but there are plenty of other nice places around Methven, so we won't be back 😊

The mountain view from the lounge is beautiful, and the whole lodge has such a relaxed, welcoming feel. Staff were lovely, and breakfast was great, with good options for children. We also made use of the spa bath and sauna. It was just right for an overnight stop in methven, and felt very family friendly. One of the most inviting places I've stayed. We'd absolutely book again.

For the price, having breakfast included along with a hot tub and sauna is a good deal. The downside is how much sound carries. You can hear everything from the neighboring rooms.
