There was everything we needed for a lovely stay, and it was really good value. The bed was comfy, there was a nice kitchen area with free breakfast basics, and free parking out front. The living room had loads of DVDs and a little guitar. There’s a restaurant next door, too. The owner, other guests and resident cats were all very friendly.

We stopped here while riding push bikes across New Zealand and passing through Murchison. It’s clean, cosy and sociable, with welcoming, accommodating hosts. The private rooms are comfortable, and the shared spaces work well for cooking, eating and chatting. If you enjoy a homely place and meeting interesting new people, I highly recommend it.

The room my friend and I booked had a bunk, a big bed and a small bed, so in theory five people could sleep there. I think it was $120 for the room. Lovely space, and the breakfast and toast were nice. It was a pleasant surprise to find toast and cereal available. I meant to ask the owner: what’s the dried fruit and muesli in the jar called?

We had dinner at their cafe and wow, it was beautiful. We sat outside under the trees with music playing. The meal was the best, and the wine was decent too. I’ll definitely eat here again.

We loved it here. The place was friendly, clean and organised, and they helped us out of a jam. They have pizza and a simple breakfast for free.
