Tony was a great host and arranged flowers along with an upgrade for the room. It was spacious and well supplied, though the shower could use more hot water, so I wouldn’t plan a long one. This was my second visit, 15 years after the first. We didn’t bring the dogs this time, but they’re still allowed. The race course is right next door, and town is easy to get to.

The owner was really friendly, the price was great, and the location worked well. We walked to the lights festival in five minutes. The room had what we needed, but the beds were doubles rather than the queen I expected, so fitting five people was difficult, though we made it work. There was mold on the windows that seemed easy to clean, and running the water caused a noise that lasted about five minutes.

We booked at the last minute for a quick visit to New Plymouth, and the staff were wonderful about telling us what was happening around town. The rooms were clean and tidy, which I hadn't expected. The beds were super comfy, and it’s great value if you just need somewhere to rest. The bathroom let the stay down, though, with broken window latches, a lifting floor and a shower that all need updating.

Our first trip to New Plymouth was a great one, and we spent three nights at this motel. Tony and Ebby were very hospitable, and the place was clean and comfortable. Shops and must-try cafes and restaurants in town are easy to reach. We had an amazing stay and would definitely come back for another holiday in NP. Highly recommended.

We spent three nights here. It’s an older property, but tidy and clean, and good value for money. We also loved the 4k hd tv and sky channels. Our only grumble was the cold showers. The motel was full, and there seemed to be too little hot water at peak times.
