We needed an extra night in New Plymouth, and Kelly-Anne was incredibly accommodating. With very little notice, she arranged access to a room and even left the keys for us before we had paid, which we really appreciated. The facilities were clean, comfortable, and excellent, so the stay was easy and enjoyable. We had a great experience at Lockwood Manor Motel and would return and recommend it.

Lovely service, and the units were clean and tidy. The bed was so comfortable, it gave me the best sleep I’ve had in a motel.

We loved staying here during the last week of the festival of lights, just a short walk away. Town and several good bars and restaurants are close by. The owners are welcoming and friendly, and the clean, well-serviced units have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended.

2/10
The room was noisy through the night, with traffic outside and loud cracking sounds from the wooden fixtures. There was also a strong musty smell. The location made getting back on track difficult too, since it sits just off a highway exit where right turns aren't allowed, so leaving meant taking a long detour. The cleanliness was unacceptable. The sheets and comforter were visibly dirty, the toilet had unflushed urine, and there was half a sausage in the mini fridge, presumably from the previous guest. I found it hard to sleep, and I can't recommend this motel to anyone who cares about hygiene, comfort, or a good night's rest.

The room was comfortable, and the town and beach were handy to get to.
