The rooms were great value. We booked a 4-bedroom for $138, which is crazy cheap, and they hadn’t skimped on the beds, which were really comfortable. It did smell bad and felt a little old-fashioned, but that’s part of its charm. The place is beside a lonely road, and the guy at reception was kind and welcoming. He even gave us milk for free. If we pass through and need somewhere to stay, we’ll definitely come back.

We came for a two-day tournament, and the unit had what we needed. It was spacious, very clean, and had the basic necessities. The location was quiet and not far from Oamaru, and it was good value for the price.

We got good value from a basic unit with everything provided, and the host was friendly. It felt like the batch I stayed in as a kid, except this one had an indoor toilet. The location was perfect. The bedroom beds were the opposite of the double bed in the main room, which was monumentally uncomfortable. At my age and with my health, I needed a comfortable bed. I should have checked the bedroom first, my own fault.

Everything we needed was there, and the retro feel was fun even though the place is quite dated. It was spotlessly clean. The beds felt too soft and wobbly, and the TV was Vevo without a soundbar, so it wasn't much use.
