We had a few nights at RPL with friends and already can't wait to return in winter. The owner was friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating, with good suggestions for things to do nearby. He even took us to a really cool waterfall, and his dog was lovely too. The rooms were clean, the staff were awesome, and the building and grounds looked beautiful.

My booking was accidental, and the lodge was meant to be closed, but the host was incredibly kind and still made sure I had a comfortable bed for the night.

We had a fun stay even with the rain, and especially liked the outdoor hot tubs, which cost a small extra fee. Braden was welcoming and clearly cared about making guests comfortable. Rimu Park Mountain Lodge is a quaint 114 year old lodge in Ohakune, set beneath Mount Ruapehu, Tongariro and Narahoi, and close to the Tongariro ski chairlift. There's a train station 150 metres away on foot, several forest and river walks nearby, and two excellent restaurants within a five minute walk. The main lodge has seven clean, well-heated, comfortable bedrooms, some with bunks, with additional rooms outside. Guests share a pleasant lounge, a large kitchen and dining area, and several bathrooms.

I had a few great days at Rimu Park. With the National Park right out the back, it's a good pick for an action-packed weekend away. The service and facilities were really good, and I was stoked with the place. Definitely recommend it. :) :) :)

The double room in the cottage had a lovely peaceful feel. It was quiet, clean, and the shower was great, with nice soaps and shampoo too. Really good vibes.
