The service was so welcoming and friendly, and we had a wonderful evening meal. Three of us ordered burgers, which were tasty and generous, with lots of good fries. The fourth had fresh fish, beautifully fresh and plentiful as well. We’ll definitely be back.

The meals came out quickly, and there was a good range to choose from. Everything was tasty and plentiful, especially the really good chips. The staff were helpful and very friendly. I’d eat here again next time I’m in Opotiki.

It’s lovely to see this historic hotel still being used. There’s a wonderful atmosphere inside, and the manager and bar staff are friendly and welcoming, which adds to the place’s charm. The rooms and facilities are clean and comfortable for a cosy budget hotel. The food is good and reasonably priced, and it’s great value.

Right in town, with a great restaurant downstairs and several kitchen areas plus communal space. The hostel was really clean and smelled fresh. Staff were super friendly, too. I’d recommend it to anyone thinking of staying. Thanks, Royal hotel!

Service: 10/10. Food: 10/10. Prices: SO cheap! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food tasted so good I thought I must have read the prices wrong. Such an amazing place.
