A kereru came and sat in view of the couch for a while, which was amazing. The little crib is so cute, with its traditional roll-together bed. Squirt, the neighbour's dog, made the stay even better. Such a good dog. I forgot to take photos, so I'll do that next time we're in town.

We had a lovely night in this peaceful place surrounded by nature, close to the beach, though there isn't a view. It's about 25 minutes from Franz Josef city. Everything was very clean, from the washrooms to the cooking utensils, and the amenities were excellent. The bedroom has a fireplace, and there's a sunroof in the dining area. The fridge was stocked with juices, fruit, bread, jam, Mexican pickle, eggs and milk, plus the host left plenty of sauces and oils for cooking. It's a great spot to spend quality time with family or a partner if you don't need a HiFi room.

Thanks to Ian on our Kiwi Tour, we got to see Warsaw, a kiwi in the wild. The Simple Lodge itself was clean and modern, with everything we needed and no fuss. The host was awesome.
