We had the dining room to ourselves for our family get-together, and the service was just right. The chef handled our range of orders brilliantly. It felt like a safe choice for a great stay away from home. Book it, you won't be disappointed.

The spa was just what our sore muscles needed, and dinner was spectacular. The wine list was fantastic too. The owners know their wines and gave us great food-pairing advice. During our three-day Central Otago Rail Trail trip, this was the best place we stayed and ate. My pun, “O Phir Awesome,” is terrible, but the place was a delight. The finish and fittings were high quality, and the sound insulation made it easy to rest. Our hosts were so helpful and encouraging, going above and beyond to make it feel like a home away from home. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

After a full-on first day on the rail trail, we had the most divine afternoon and evening here. Colleen was an amazing host and everything was beautiful. Chef Sousz cooked one of the best meals we've had in a long time, truly superb. Sue looked after us at breakfast and made great coffee, just what we needed before riding back into the wind. Colleen and David were wonderful hosts, and both the local wine and beer selection were exceptional. The food was exquisite. Pitches is a beautiful, historic building and a great place to try the best of local Otago produce. Highly recommend it.

We spent our first night of the Otago Rail Trail cycle at Pitches. The food was delicious, and the service felt friendly and welcoming. The rooms were stylish, clean and comfortable. It's a gorgeous place to stay and eat, and we'd come back.
