We only stayed one night, so didn’t get much time to enjoy the books and board games in the clean rooms. The woman at the pub reception was so friendly when she helped me check in, and again when I came back for a blanket I’d left behind. The staff also kept my lost item safe so I could retrieve it. Had a wonderful time and would love to return.

The cooking facilities were easy to use, and I loved being able to get barista-made coffee from 11:30 am until late. The staff were friendly and helpful, too, which made everything feel easy and stress-free. Otematata Escapes was fantastic.

We were five, four adults and one child, and had a great stay. The rooms were very clean, and it was peaceful and beautiful there. Lovely dams and rivers are nearby, and Lake Tekapo is close enough. We’ll definitely come back.

The bathroom seems to have been renovated recently, though it’s very small. I only got about two minutes of hot water in the shower before it turned completely cold. Perhaps someone else had used it all. We liked the pleasant apartment, with its separate bedroom and living room. The TV didn’t work, but we didn’t mind.

The setting is beautiful, and the location worked perfectly for our one-night stay. We arrived outside the usual check-in hours, but everything was arranged really well for us. The person I messaged through the booking site was very responsive. Nothing bad to say, I definitely recommend it!
